Red White and POSH Pickleball Tournament - 2v2

1. Game Format:

   • Doubles: Pickleball can be played doubles (two players per team).

   • Scoring: Games are typically played to 11 points, win by 2. Tournament games may be played to 15 or 21 points, also win by 21.

   • Will play games to 7 win by 2 for the first pool of round robin and switch to traditional Pickleball Play once we get to semi finals.

2. Serving:

   • Serve Motion: The server’s arm must move in an upward arc, and paddle contact with the ball must be below the waist1.

   • Serve Direction: The serve must be made diagonally crosscourt and land within the opposite diagonal court1.

   • Serve Attempts: Only one serve attempt is allowed per server1.

3. Serving Sequence:

   • Doubles: Both players on the serving team have the opportunity to serve and score points until they commit a fault. The first serve of each side-out is made from the right/even court1.

   • Singles: The server serves from the right/even court when their score is even and from the left/odd court when their score is odd1.

4. Two-Bounce Rule:

   • The receiving team must let the serve bounce before returning, and the serving team must let the return bounce before playing it. This ensures that both teams have allowed the ball to bounce once before volleys can begin1.

5. Faults:

   • A fault occurs when the ball is hit out of bounds, does not clear the net, is volleyed from the non-volley zone, or is volleyed before a bounce has occurred on each side1.

6. Non-Volley Zone:

   • Also known as the “kitchen,” this is the area within 7 feet on both sides of the net. Players cannot volley the ball while standing in this zone1.
