Game Format:
Doubles: Pickleball can be played doubles (two players per team).
Scoring: Games are typically played to 11 points, win by 2. Tournament games may be played to 15 or 21 points, also win by 21.
Will play games to 7 win by 2 for the first pool of round robin and switch to traditional Pickleball Play once we get to semi finals.
Serving:
Serving Sequence:
Doubles: Both players on the serving team have the opportunity to serve and score points until they commit a fault. The first serve of each side-out is made from the right/even court1.
Singles: The server serves from the right/even court when their score is even and from the left/odd court when their score is odd1.
Two-Bounce Rule:
The receiving team must let the serve bounce before returning, and the serving team must let the return bounce before playing it. This ensures that both teams have allowed the ball to bounce once before volleys can begin1.
Faults:
Non-Volley Zone:
Also known as the “kitchen,” this is the area within 7 feet on both sides of the net. Players cannot volley the ball while standing in this zone1.
